Home Ministry clarifies order allowing opening of shops, sale of liquor still banned

The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a clarification regarding the press release allowing the opening of shops during lockdown.
It clarified that although shops have been allowed to open in rural and urban areas, sale of liquor and other items are still prohibited as specified in the National Directives for Covid-19 management.
The statement issued by the government said that all shops, except the ones in shopping malls allowed to open in rural areas and in urban areas, all shops in the neighbourhood and residential complexes are allowed to open. But, Shops in markets and shopping malls are not allowed to open.
It further clarified that whether rural or urban, any of these shops will not be permitted to open in areas which are declared as containment zones.
