Homes for 3,165 Pourakarmikas in Karnataka Budget

Bengaluru: There might be heaps of garbage over the city however the state budget plan says municipal solid waste processing and disposal sites have been produced in 208 urban local bodies including BBMP and door-to-door collection of waste has started in 229 urban local bodies in the state.
Waste processing centres has been created in 98 urban local bodies, where 3,775 tons of waste (counting that in BBMP zones) every day is being handled. With an end goal to give essential facilities to pourakarmikas who keep up tidiness in urban areas, move has been made to develop houses for 3,165 beneficiaries under Pourakarmika Gruha Bhagya Yojane.
According to the budget, “Our government is issuing a heading to the local bodies in Karnataka to impose plastic waste management charge at 3% on MRP basis on sale of goods packed with plastic within their locality. Expense gathered along these lines will be utilized for reprocessing of plastic for preservation of nature.”
