Honest auto driver; returns cash and gold to the rightful owner

Belthangady: An honest auto-rickshaw driver returned the valuables, including gold and cash, he found on the side of the road to its rightful owner. This honest incident took place on Saturday, June 30th.

The honest rickshaw driver who has garnered lots of praise for his honesty is identified as Podimonu aka Hameed (55), a resident of Sunnatkere here. He is an auto driver at Guruvayanakere. He was a passenger to Parappu village, when he saw a bag containing gold worth Rs 2 lac, some cash and one mobile phone on the road.

Hameed picked up the valuables from the road, switched on the cellphone and as soon as he made contact with the owner, he returned all the valuables to the owner identified as Prema, a resident of Balnadu village of Puttur.
