Honest delivery boy: Purse, gold ornaments returned

Manipal: By giving a purse found on the road near the nationalized bank at bunder to Manipal police station, a Swiggy delivery boy identified as Devadiga has exemplified honesty.  The contents of the purse included gold ornaments worth Rs 1 lakh, Rs 25,000 in cash and a mobile phone.

An elderly couple Janardhan Shet and Girija had visited a car showroom and then arrived to the bank here. After departing from the bank and reaching some distance ahead, they realized that the purse was missing and hence, promptly went to the police station. Meanwhile, police inspector Sudarshan N and PSI Shridhar Nambiar attempted to call the mobile of the couple and when the call was not received, they sent messages. They also took steps for finding the location.

Suresh, a resident of Palli Ninjur noticed the purse lying on the road in front of the bank, found the mobile within the purse and noticing the incoming call, he called back to the number through his mobile. Later, he visited the police station and handed over the missing purse along with its contents. For his honesty, he was rewarded by the elderly family. The police inspector and PSI congratulated him.
