Honesty exemplified: Auto driver returns passenger’s forgotten bag with cash

Mangaluru: Honesty was exemplified when an auto rickshaw driver returned the bag of a passenger, who left it by mistake in his auto , containing Rs 1,10,000 in cash.
A patient identified as Shameer was ailing from knee pain and had arrived at Kankanady railway station from Kannur to get treatment for his ailment at Yenepoya hospital in the city. However, while alighting from the auto rickshaw near the hospital, he forgot to collect his bag containing money which he had kept on the seat. After the rickshaw left, Shameer realized his mistake and immediately informed the police control room about his situation.
the driver of the auto rickshaw, identified as Vasanth Shetty, saw the unclaimed bag on the rear seat of his vehicle and promptly informed the same to Konaje police station. The bag along with its cash was returned to its owner Shameer in the presence of the police officials in the evening. Police and Shameer both have lauded Vasanth’s honesty.
