Mangaluru: The Wenlock District Government Hospital at Mangaluru has been chosen by Health Minister B Sriramulu for the ‘hospital stay’ programme.
Under the programme, started by the minister in September 2019, he stays in a hospital overnight and learns about the problems faced by the hospital and initiates actions for improving its facilities.
He has announced Wenlock as one of the hospitals in the list but is yet to officially convey it to the hospital.
The Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr Rajeshwari Devi has said that there are certain immediate requirements in the hospital such as grants to buy 200 beds for the super-speciality block, a new trauma and casualty ward and a passage to inter-connect the distantly located blocks of the hospital.
