Horrific accident in Tumkur: At least 4 killed; 20 injured as pvt bus overturns at Pavagada

Tumkur: A private bus overturned near Palavalli Katte in Pavagada Taluk on Saturday morning, killing at least 4 persons and injuring many others.

The accident occurred at 9 AM during the morning rush hours. The bus on its way from Y.N. Hosakote to Pavagada city reached Palavalli Katte the man behind the wheels lost control and as a result, the bus overturned.

Many of the passengers were thrown out of the bus on impact, of which some were crushed under the bus. It is gathered that 4 were killed on the spot. At least 20 others were injured.

The injured have been rushed to hospitals in Bengaluru, Pavagada, and Tumkur.

Overspeeding is said to be the cause of the accident. As per witnesses, the bus driver was driving irresponsibly at a breakneck speed when the bus overturned.

The condition of many among the injured is said to be critical and the death toll may increase, sources said.
