Kasaragod: A gang shot a person at Hosangadi in Manjeshwar on Wednesday night and the critically injured victim has been admitted into a hospital in Ernakulum. It is suspected that the act has been carried out by a gang.

The victim is identified as Sirajuddin (40), son of Abdulla-Khadeeja couple, residents of Goliyadi Charlaka in Badiyadka.

What is noteworthy is that the entire incident had been kept hushed up. It is learnt that an unidentified gang admitted Sirajuddin into a hospital in Mangaluru, informed the relatives of the victim and fled.

During police investigation it was found out that the car in which Sirajuddin had travelled had left from Mangaluru and reached a part of Badiyadka. In the backdrop of the bullet having hit the victim in his neck, his condition is said to be critical and hence his family shifted him to Amrata hospital in Ernakulum. The information regarding this was provided to Manjeshwar police by this very hospital itself.

Not in the state to provide information

The police inform that currently, Sirajuddin is not in a state to give any information. The youth needs emergency operation and since the bullet stuck in his neck could not be removed, he was shifted from Mangaluru to Ernakulum, informed a source from the family.

Criminal background of the injured

Sirajiuddin, who is now in a critical condition at a hospital in Ernakulum after having suffered a gunshot is from a criminal background. He has been accused in several cases. In connection to the case, investigation is being carried out by concentrating on the local ganja mafia gang, inform the police.
