Hosapete: Three teenagers are feared drowned while swimming at the water canal near Saibaba Temple on TB Dam Road here on Saturday, December 17.

They have been identified as Anjini (18), a resident of Mrutyunjaya Nagar, Gururaj (18), a resident of Gunda village, and Yashwant, a resident of Hosalingapura village of Koppal district.

According to sources, six students of a college had been to the canal for a swim after bunking classes. When swimming they were trapped in the flowing water in the canal and began drowning. Locals who noticed the youths in peril ran to their rescue and pulled 3 of them out of the water. The others could not be saved and were swept away.
