Hubballi: 9 family members misuse emergency pass to attend wedding, put under quarantine

Hubballi: The police have seized a vehicle carrying 9 members of a family from Dharwad and sent for quarantine for misusing the travel pass issued by district administration in Narendra Village.
Deputy SP Ravi Nayak and his team stopped the vehicle at Narendra village and found out that they were from Uppina Betagiri village returning from a wedding function using government pass issued for medical reasons.
The police seized the vehicle and sent everyone in the vehicle to KIMS hospital for medical check up. Their swab samples have been collected and sent for testing. The police have asked them to go for a compulsory home quarantine for 14 days.
Reacting to this incident, Dharwad SP Vartika Katiyar said, “These passes are issued on humanitarian grounds and should not be misused. Strict action will be taken against those who misuse the medical pass. ”
“The district have seized hundreds of two-wheelers, cars and autos for violating lockdown rules,” she added.
