A case has been registered at the Ghantikeri police station in Hubballi, accusing three individuals of attempting to kidnap Niranjanayya Hiremath’s assistant. Niranjanayya is the father of the late Neha Hiremath and a municipal corporation member.

The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday morning in front of the Gajanan Bank on Valwekar Galli. According to the complaint filed, Niranjanayya’s assistant, Eranna, also known as Vijay, was the target of the kidnapping attempt.

Eranna had gone out around 5:00 AM to turn off a streetlight when three individuals allegedly forced him to get into a car. Frightened, Eranna tried to record a video on his mobile phone, when the trio fled from the spot. He then informed the police about the incident.

The police are currently gathering information to identify the kidnappers and know their motive.

Hubballi-Dharwad Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar stated, “We are taking this case seriously. The complainant has provided information at the Ghantikeri police station. Officials have visited the spot and conducted an inspection. Appropriate action will be taken against those found guilty.”

Further investigations are underway.
