Hubballi: Cops arrested for gambling!

Hubballi: The cops who were supposed to catch those involved in illegal gambling were themselves caught redhanded in a gambling case here.

Gokul road police, who raided a gambling racket at a house in Akshaya Colony, were shocked to find that the four persons found at the premises were personnel of the City Armed Reserve Forcer (CAR).

An inspector, two head constables, one constable, and a retired head constable of the City Armed Reserve Force (CAR) were found involved in gambling during the raid, police said.

However, CAR inspector managed to flee from the spot, and is absconding ever since, police added.

The raid was conducted at the house as per the instructions from metropolitan Police Commissioner Labhooram.

Cash worth Rs 9,000 and 5 mobile phone used for betting were also seized.  A case has been registered at Gokul Road Police Station.
