Hubballi: Heavy rains that began on October 9 and continued into Thursday morning have caused severe waterlogging in several low-lying areas of the city. Many major roads were flooded, resembling small lakes, and a few trees were uprooted in certain parts of the city.
The rain, which started with a downpour on Wednesday evening, continued as intermittent showers throughout the night. However, by early Thursday morning, the city experienced heavy rains, resulting in water entering a few houses in the Panchakshari Nagar area of Navanagar.
Low-lying areas in Old Hubballi, such as Ganesh Colony, Anand Nagar, Shimla Nagar, and parts of PB Road, Dajibanpet, and Vidyanagar, also witnessed waterlogging.
Significant water accumulation was observed on the BRTS (Bus Rapid Transit System) route, particularly near Srinagar Cross. In Ramnagar and Ashok Nagar, two trees were uprooted due to the heavy rains. So far, there have been no reports of major damage caused by the rainfall.
