Hubballi: Corporation Commissioner Dr. Eshwar Ullagaddi issued instructions on Friday night permitting installation of the Ganapati idol at the Idgah Maidan.

The organisers can install the idol for 3 days i.e. on September 19,20 and 21 at the Idgah Maidan. However, there will be restrictions as imposed during last year’s Ganesha Chaturthi celebrations.

For the past two days, protests led by the BJP were held against the delay in granting permission to hold Ganesha festivities at the Maidan. Celebrations broke out as soon as permission was granted with the protestors who had congregated in front of the corporation commissioner’s office chanting slogans and lighting firecrakers.
