Hubli: Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra on Sunday said that the stone-pelting incident that took place at Old Hubli Police Station was a pre-planned conspiracy.

Speaking to the reporters, Araga said, “The violence in Hubli erupted after derogatory comments about a particular community were posted on social media. After this, a mob that had gathered outside a police station started pelting stones at the police station and police vehicles. Several including the person who kept objectionable WhatsApp status has been arrested. No one will be spared.”

” Four policemen including one inspector have been injured. They have been admitted to the hospital. The authorities imposed section 144 in the area. Situation is under control,” he added.

A mob of hundreds of people suddenly gathered outside the Old Hubli Police station and went berserk on late Saturday night.
