Belthangady: Two huge rocks fell between the bends numbered 2 and 3 on the Mangaluru-Chikmagalur road in Charmadi ghat on Wednesday, August 5 at about 6:20 pm.
The rocks have blocked the route enough that only one vehicle can pass at a time near the bends.
It was reported that no dangerous or harmful incidents occurred during or after the rocks fell. Officials are clearing the roads from 7 pm.
The rocks fell due to the landslide caused in the ghat by the continuous rainfall in the past two days.
Earthmoving equipments have already been deployed for the clearance works. Motorists have also been cautioned by authorities while driving in the ghat and adjoining hill ranges in the Chikmagalur area.
