Huge traffic jams in Bengaluru after easing of lockdown restrictions

Bengaluru: Bengaluru witnessed massive traffic jams on Monday as the Karnataka government partially eased the COVID-19-induced restrictions in the city.

The Old Airport Road, which connects central Bengaluru to the IT corridors of Whitefield and Outer Ring Road, was congested.

Vehicles coming from Hosur in Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri district were also seen stuck in long queues at Attibele in Bengaluru.

The unlock process began on Monday as COVID-19 cases started showing a declining trend in the state. The state government had imposed stringent restrictions on April 27 to contain the spread of the virus.
