Shanna Swan, an environmental scientist has warned in her new book titled ‘Count Down’ that human penises are shrinking due to rising pollution.
She wrote that a growing number of babies are being born with small penises.
She further adds that humanity is facing an “existential crisis” in the fertility rates as human penises are shrinking and that the genitals are malfunctioning due to pollution, posing a challenge to human reproduction.
She says that this is a result of phthalates, chemicals used to manufacture plastics that impact the hormone-producing endocrine system.
Shanna Swan examined the phthalate syndrome and found that fetuses exposed to the chemical were likely to be born with shrunken genitals.
She informed that phthalate transmits into toys and foods as it makes plastic flexible. It harms human development by disrupting the natural production of hormones.
