Humnabad: In a suspected case of custodial death, an undertrial in a sub-jail in the town died on Wednesday.
The deceased undertrial has been identified as Javed Khan Parvez Khan (45). Sources said that he complained about feeling ill when he returned to the jail facing trial in court on Wednesday. The jail authorities immediately rushed him to the government hospital. However, he died without responding to treatment.
The deceased was allegedly involved in various cases, including dacoity, booked against him at various police stations including dacoity. During a dacoity incident on the outskirts of Humnabad town in November last year, He was wounded and arrested by PSI Ravikumar Naikodi opened fire in the air and was arrested. Since then, he has been facing trial without getting bail.
Judge Appasaheb Naik of the JMFC court in the town visited the hospital and inspected the circumstances of the custodial death. He informed the family that the autopsy of the deceased would be conducted at the Bidar government hospital.
