Hunagund Turns Tensed after Cattle Slaughter; 33 Persons Taken into Police Custody

Hunagund: Police have taken more than 33 people into their custody following tensions between two communities on Saturday in Hunagund town of Bagalkot district. The tensions erupted in the town as Hindu youths objected cattle slaughter near town bus stand when the members of muslim community where slaughtering cattle as part of their Bakrid celebrations.
The members of both communalities pelted stones each others’ after heated arguments over the issue. The police took 5 members of Hindu community and 28 muslims into their custody inconnection with the case. Elaborate security arrangements have been taken in Hunagund to keep peace and security in the area.
