Aizawl: Hundreds of people today participated and ate beef in the ‘Beef Fest’ organised in south Mizoram’s Lunglei town.
Lunglei Beef Fest committee chairman Lalramzauva said hundreds of people participated in the fest and ate beef.
A large number of placards and banners were displayed in the fest.
One placard said, “Let us live in peace, not in pieces.”
Some speakers in the fest warned that India would “break up” if some religious bigots try to impose their religious and communal agenda on others through the government.
Earlier, beef feast was organised in Aizawl on June 12, the day Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju were in the Mizoram capital city to attend a meeting with chief ministers of the north eastern states sharing international border with Myanmar.
