Hunsur: 4 killed, 5 injured in KSRTC bus-jeep collision

Hunsur: Four persons died on the spot and five others sustained serious injuries following a collision between a KSRTC bus and a jeep on the highway near Ayyappaswamy hill in Hunsur city.

The jeep, carrying daily wage laborers to Periyapatna for work, rammed into the KSRTC bus while attempting to overtake a vehicle. Owing to the impact of the collision the labourers were thrown off the jeep and four persons died on the spot. The injured people have been admitted to Hunsur Hospital and the condition of three of them is said to be critical.

Traffic on the highway was disrupted for some time due to the accident.

A team of police personnel rushed to the spot and shifted the dead body to the public hospital.

The identities of the deceased, reportedly from HD Kote is yet to be ascertained. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
