Hunsur: Fatal road accident kills two; Heartbroken sister dies on hearing brother’s sudden demise

Hunsur: Two persons were killed, and 2 others were injured, in a ghastly accident between a car and bikes near Somanahalli on the Mysuru Bantwal highway-275 here on Monday night.

The deceased have been identified as Kirtiraj (24) who was the only son of Bannikuppe based journalist Cheluvaraju, and Ravikumar (34), son of Nagaraj from Mysuru’s Kailaspura.

Ravikumar is survived by his wife and two children. He was riding the ill-fated bike with a pillion rider, Irfan Khan of Uday Nagar in Mysuru. Irfan and another bike rider named Nagendra of Bannikuppe were seriously injured in the mishap and were rushed to a hospital in Mysuru, sources said.

The accident occurred when the 2 bikes suddenly applied brakes to avoid hitting an oncoming car. Kirtiraj, who was just behind them also hit the brakes but lost control of the wheels and hit the bikes.

The out-of-control car hit a roadside tree, causing it to flip over, while the bikes were tossed into the roadside farm. A critically injured driver Kirtiraj was immediately rushed to the hospital in Hunsur but died without responding to treatment. On the other hand, the biker Ravikumar, who was critically injured, died at a private hospital in Mysuru, sources added.

The two injured were admitted to a hospital in Mysuru by the rural station police, however, they are said to be critical in the intensive care unit.

Kirtiraj’s cousin dies on hearing his sudden death

Kitiraj’s sudden death has plunged the who family into mourning. Unable to bear the sudden loss Rashmi (21) who happens to be the daughter of Krtiraj’s uncle, fell ill. She later died without responding to treatment at a hospital in Hunsur, family sources said.

The death of two young family members, hours apart, have shaken Kirthiraj’s family. The brother and sister were laid to rest at Bannikuppe on Tuesday evening, sources said.
