Hunsur: Forest officers raid house cooking deer meat; accused escapes

Hunsur: A deer antler and flesh was seized in a raid at a house by Forest Department officers while it was being cooked for consumption.
The incident was reported from the house of Ashok Kumar at Lakshmipura village in Periyapatna taluk near Nagarhole National Park.
Kumar escaped from the officers.
The raid was carried by the Project Tiger Director at the Nagarahole Park D Mahesh and Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) Satish and other staff of the Forest Department.
ACF Satish informed Udayavani that the utensils used in cooking, as well as the deer flesh and antlers, were seized from the house. Adding that a case has also been registered against the accused Kumar.
