Hyderabad: Covid-19 positive doctor charged Rs 1.5 lakh at private hospital

Hyderabad: The video of a lady doctor of Hyderabad, who had tested positive for Covid-19, complaining about the treatment costs in a city hospital has gone viral on social media.
The doctor was reportedly charged around 1.5 Lakh for 30 hour hospital stay. Dr. A Sultana, who works at the Government Fever Hospital, Nallakunta, alleged that the management of Thumbay New Life hospital at Chaderghat confined her in a room and misbehaved with her on Saturday, July 4, when she did not agree to pay the huge bill
In the one-minute video, recorded inside the hospital and released on Sunday, July 5, Sultana accused the hospital management. She also alleged that she was not given proper medication and the nurses were irresponsible.
The doctor has also written a complaint addressed to the Chaderghat Inspector reporting about the incidents during her stay at the hospital. However, the Chaderghat police denied receiving any complaint.
