Mandya: In order to extend support to Mandya Congress-JDS candidate and Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s Nikhil Kumaraswamy JD (S) patriarch H D Deve Gowda and his son and Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy teamed up and campaigned for Nikhil on Saturday, April 13.
Addressing the rally both Deve Gowda and HD Kumaraswamy spoke about contributions of the coalition government for development of the district as their special vehicle inched through Mandya town and neighbouring villages.
Deve Gowda said that Kumaraswamy government has launched projects worth Rs 8,500 crores exclusively for Mandya district. Besides, the government waived crop loans to the tune of Rs 500 crores for farmers of Mandya district.
He further said “Kumaranna (CM) arranged for decent last rites of Ambareesh which was better than the last rites of Dr Rajkumar.
“In spite of all this, why is Sumalatha targeting my son and grandson?” he questioned.
“I have full faith in voters of Mandya, and they will support Nikhil”, he added.
Karnataka will go to vote on April 18 and 23.
