Bengaluru: A day after Enforcement Directorate officials issued summons to Belagavi Rural MLA Laxmi Hebbalkar, she said that she has no business connections with DK Shivakumar
Speaking on the issue Laxmi said, “I have no business connections with DK Shivakumar, he is my mentor. I am just one of the 184 individuals who have been issued the summons. I am not scared at all. I have faced two IT raids and they did not find anything against me.”
The Enforcement Directorate officials on Tuesday issued summons to Belagavi Rural MLA Laxmi Hebbalkar and have asked her to appear before them for questioning on September 19 as a witness in relation to the money laundering case registered against Congress leader DK Shivakumar.
Laxmi confirming that she had been summoned by ED said, the official so ED has asked her to appear as a witness in a case.
Earlier, D K Shivakumar’s daughter Aishwarya had appeared before the Enforcement Directorate in connection with its money-laundering probe against him,
The Congress leader and former Karnataka Cabinet minister was arrested by the ED on September 3 and is in the agency’s custody.
The central agency in September last year registered a money-laundering case against Shivakumar, Haumanthaiah, an employee at the Karnataka Bhavan in New Delhi, and others.
The criminal case was filed based on an Income Tax Department charge sheet filed against Shivakumar and others before a court in Bengaluru for alleged tax evasion and hawala dealings.
