Actor Puneet Issar claimed that he lost seven to eight films after accidentally inflicting a serious injury on Amitabh Bachchan on the set of the 1983 film Coolie
He also said that Bachchan greeted him with warmth when he went to see him at the hospital
Punit said that he was worried about the incident and when he went to meet Bacchan at the hospital he greeted him kindly because he knew what Punit was going through as a similar accident happened between Vinod Khanna and Mr Bachchan, where he accidentally injured Vinod ji, which cost him eight stitches on the forehead
Amitabh was critically injured on 26th July 1982, while shooting for an intense fight scene with co-star Puneet Issar at Bangalore University campus
In the fight scene, Bachchan was supposed to fall onto a table, but his jump missed the calculations. He suffered an abdominal injury. He was shifted to a Mumbai hospital where he went into a coma-like situation. Big B was also declared ‘clinically dead’ for a couple of minutes
