I miss my dad: Actor Ramesh Aravind gets emotional on receiving honorary doctorate

Belagavi: Sandalwood actor and director Ramesh Aravind turned emotional on receiving the honorary doctorate presented by the Rani Channamma University (RNU) on Wednesday, September 14.

Addressing the gathering he said, “I sent WhatsApp message to my family and friends on receiving the honorary doctorate. They replied, ‘Your father should have been alive to watch this great moment’. I really miss my dad. I wish he was by my side to celebrate this moment”.

“I’m grateful to all my fans and cinema lovers, who waited in the long queues to buy movie tickets and watch my movies. I also thank all my co-stars for being so supportive. All their support has led me to achieve this feat”, he added.

Ramesh was awarded the ‘Doctor of Letter’ for outstanding achievement in the field of cinema for three decades.

Governor of Karnataka Thawar Chand Gehlot presided over the 10th Convocation programme of the RNU.

Vice Chancellor of the Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh, T.V. Kattimani gave the address note. Vice Chancellor of Rani Channamma University, M.Ramachandragowda, and others were present.
