Bengaluru: Facing severe criticism for the remarks passed on a woman farmer, Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy sought to defend himself by stating that he has never disrespected women in his life and if he ever does so he will resign from the CM’s post.
Addressing press persons at Vidhana Soudha, Kumaraswamy said that he always thinks before speaking and is very well aware of the words he uses. He further added that his statement had been misinterpreted by others.
“How can I say anything wrong while addressing that woman farmer as a mother ?”, he asked. “If the statement I had made hurt the feelings of that lady I am ready to take back my statement,” he added.
He further mentioned that coming from a respectable family, he knew how to respect women and has always treated women with dignity both in his personal and professional life.
