IAS Aspirant misses UPSC exam, commits suicide

Karwar/New DElhi: An UPSC aspirant commited suicide in his room at Paharganj in Delhi on June 3.
The deceased has been recognized as Varun Chandra (26), a local of Karwar.
Lakhs of students showed up for the preparatory examination of the Civil Service Examination 2018 (ordinarily known as IAS exam) held on Sunday, June 3 throughout the nation. The aspirant are under tremendous pressure as the exam could make or break their hopes of entering the halls of bureaucracy in the country. Likewise, the way that the exam takes an entire year to finish adds to the pressure.
Varun was appointed an exam center in Paharganj. In a mistake, he reached another center. As Varun reached the exam center late, he was denied entry by the invigilators. It had informed that entry into exam hall will close 10 minutes before the start of the exam.
On coming back to his room, Varun committed suicide by hanging from the roof fan. Police have recouped a suicide note from his room. A case was enlisted at the Rajender Nagar Police Station.
According to sources near the family, Varun was preparing for the exam for a long time. He had additionally reserved tickets to Mumbai as he needed to show up for another exam on Monday. Varun’s father, Subhash Chandran is a scientist posted at the Kumta research station of Indian Institute of Science.
