IAS Officer Sanjiv Kumar Takes Charge as Chief Electoral Officer of Karnataka

Bengaluru: After a meeting with the state government, Election Commission of India (ECI) has appointed IAS officer, Sanjiv Kumar as chief electoral officer (CEO) for Karnataka state. Sanjiv took his charge as CEO on Friday. Previous CEO Anil Kumar Jha has been transferred as Chief Secretary of Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms.
Sanjiv Kumar is a 1986 batch IAS officer and he appointed as CEO under Representation of the People Act1950 Section 13A. Earlier he served as additional chief secretary of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department.
