Mangaluru: City’s iconic Clock Tower is all set to have a new tower at Hampankatta close to the place where it existed decades ago.
Mangaluru Smart City Ltd has proposed to re-construct it at an estimated cost of Rs. 90 lakh.
Addressing the media Mayor Kavita Sanil said that the memories of the Clock Tower near the University College (erstwhile Government College) have still not vanished from the minds of the people. It would be re-built in the same place near the college.
Mohammed Nazir, Commissioner, MCC, said that the 21-m high tower will have clocks on four sides. Bids have been invited to construct the tower.
