Illegal abattoir raided: Two arrested

Bantwal: Two persons have been arrested by Bantwal rural police on the charges of running an illegal abattoir at the empty space at the house of one Ummar, a resident of Golipadpu in Sajipanadu village.

The arrested have been identified as Asir (25), son of Ummar Panya Bajinadi of Kodimbala in Puttur taluk and Asif (35), son of late Mohammed, a resident of Kodimbaa Kenchabatra. Another accused Usman (40), a resident of Golipadpu has escaped.

The accused have been booked under anti-cow slaughter law and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. During the raid, meat worth Rs 7,000 and other equipment were seized.
