Illegal firearm manufacturing busted in Madikeri

Madikeri: Kodagu police arrested Suresh (52), a native of Idukki, Kerala, for illegally manufacturing and selling country-made firearms in a rented house in Sannapulikotu village, Madikeri Taluk.

During the raid, police seized materials used to manufacture the firearms, along with two country-made rifles and one pistol.

Three individuals who purchased firearms from Suresh, identified as N.J. Shivaram from Karike Chettukaya village, S. Ravi from Magali village, and Koti from Doddapulikotu village, were also taken into custody. The police recovered one firearm each from these individuals. A total of five firearms and one pistol were seized during the operation.

The operation was led by Madikeri Sub-Division DySP Mahesh Kumar and Rural Circle Inspector Anoop Madappa, with the support of Bhagamandala PSO Shobha Lamani and a special police team. SP K. Ramarajan praised the successful operation.
