Illegal gambling centres raided; over Rs 1.40 lac seized

Kundapur: Cracking down on illegal gambling centres in the taluk, police on Monday, March 2 conducted raids at four locations and arrested several persons. The police confiscated over Rs 1,49,000 in cash, 26 mobile phones, three cars and four motorbikes found in possession of the accused.
Acting on credible information, police conducted raids at Unity Recreation Association club at Kageri in Koteshwar village, Laxmi Bar at Goliangady, Shantha Recreation at Dottinaberu in Siddapur village and MG Recreation Club at Sauparnika Complex in Yadthare village
A sum of Rs 13,040 was confiscated during the raid on Unity Recreation Association club, Rs 1,03,205 seized from gambling den that was being run on the upper storey of Laxmi Bar; Rs 6,745 in cash was seized from Shantha Recreation and s 26,500 in cash was found from MG Recreation Club.
