Illegal possession of beef; 5 arrested, 55 kg beed seized

Karkala: Five persons were arrested by the police personnel of the rural police station here for slaughtering a cow and preparing beef during a raid conducted inside government thicket near Arbi Falls at Parappady in Nitte village on Thursday January 3.  

One of the accused succeeded in giving the police a slip. The raid was conducted under the leadership of sub-inspector Nassir Hussain of the rural police station,

The arrested are identified as as Somanath, Shankar and Prasant from Nitte Ambadekallu, Prasanna from Parappady Cross and Borgalgudde Muhammed Ashraf. The one who managed to escape is identified as Suresh from Lamina Cross, Nitte.

During the raid, the police recovered a seized a skull of cow, tail, pelt, two knives, plastic, rope, and 55 kg beef. The rural police have registered a case in this connection.
