Illegal sand extraction: Three boats confiscated

Mangaluru: The Bajpe police along with officials from Revenue and Mines and Geology Department confiscated three boats engaged in illegal sand extraction during a joint raid conducted on Sunday from Phalguni (Gurupura) river in Addur village on Sunday.
The value of the seized property is estimated at Rs five lakh, said a communique from Mangaluru police.
The raid operation was led by Bajpe Police Inspector S. Parashivamurthy under the guidance of Assistant Commissioner of Police (North) Srinivasa Gowda. Padmashree from Mines and Geology and Asif and Prameela from Revenue Departments participated.
