Illegal sand mining permits: Five PWD officers arrested

Chikkamagaluru: five Public Works Department officers have been held by the police for selling illegally procured sand mining permits from the department of mines and geology.

According to the police, the accused officers had created sand mining documentations using false records. They sold these illegal documents in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts.

Assistant engineer Lokesh, executive engineer Lokeshappa and two others are being enquired regarding this case.

Further investigation is still in progress.
