​​​​​​​Illegal sand transportation; police seize three lorries

Mangaluru: Three lorries have been seized by the Mangaluru rural police in association with the Anti-Rowdy Squad for illegal transportation of sand in Friday Dec 21st.

Based on a definite tip off about the illegal sand transportation, the Mangaluru rural police and the anti rowdy squad found three sand laden lorries plying going from Ulaibettu to Parari junction. The police waylaid the lorries and found out that the drivers did not have proper license to transport the sand.

The total cost of the seized vehicle along with their load of sand is estimated to be around Rs 25.15 lakh. The seized vehicles with their load of sand have been handed over to the Mines and Geology Department for further investigation.
