Belagavi: The protem Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Council, Raghunath Malkapure has said that he is a BJP party worker first and then speaker.

On Wednesday he said, “I’ve chosen BJP to contribute towards rebuilding the country strong. I’ve believed that politics is equal to nationalism and I’m working as a party worker. I’m overwhelmed by the fact that a party worker like me is given such a major responsibility. I’ve accepted this responsibility happily.”

“I’m happy that Basavaraj Horatti has been unanimously appointed as the chairperson of the Upper House for consecutive eight times. I support him. But being on this chair, I’ll not make any political comments. I’ll accept any responsibility and work sincerely”, he added.
