Belagavi: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has said that he is in contact with former ministers K S Eshwarappa and Ramesh Jarkiholi.
Addressing the media at the Suvarna Soudha on Tuesday, he said, “K S Eshwarappa and Ramesh Jarkiholi have not boycotted Belagavi Winter Session. Their skipping the session cannot be considered a boycott. There is no issue in giving him a ministerial portfolio, as he has got a clean chit in the contractor Santhosh Patil death case. With this regard, I’ve spoken with the party high command, and I will also speak to him personally.”
“Similarly, we are also in contact with Ramesh Jarkiholi”, he added.
Earlier, KSE had said that he was unhappy over CM Bommai for not being given a ministership. He had said that he would not be attending the Belagavi Winter Session.
Reacting to KPCC President D K Shivakumar’s statement that the government was using CBI as a tool to suppress him., CM Bommai said, “CBI is an autonomous body. Now that the case is under them, they will investigate. DKShi too known about this.”
On questions about ‘Halal cut’, he said, “There is no connection between Halal cut row and the government.”
