IMD issues ‘Yellow Alert’ for May 8 in Dakshina Kannada; predicts thundershowers

Mangaluru: The retreating monsoon has strengthened in the coastal Karnataka. Indian Meteorological Department has sounded a ‘yellow alert’ for the region.
In its latest weather advisory, IMD has warned that the coast might experience thunderstorms and rainfall on May 8.
The Dakshina Kannada district witnessed a partly cloudy and sunny day on Saturday. Mercury rose to a high of 33.1 degrees celsius in Mangaluru, on Saturday, with the minimum temperature recorded at 24 degrees celsius, the met department said.
