IMD issues ‘Yellow Alert’ for south-central K’taka; heavy rains expected on Nov 25, 26

Bengaluru: The Indian Meteorological Department has issued ‘Yellow Alert’ for interior districts of southern Karnataka on November 25 and 25.
Intermittent heavy rainfall is expected in Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Kolar, Mysuru, Mandya, Ramanagara, Chamarajanagar and Tumakuru districts.
This weather anomaly is due to a depression over the Bay of Bengal which is forecasted to turn into a cyclonic storm on November 24.
Bengaluru, especially the low-lying areas of the city, are at higher risk of flooding due to the expected heavy spells of rains and thunder because of the storm.
The storm and widespread rainfall will subside by Saturday, November 28.
