Udupi: The chief of Pejawara Mutt Sri Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Sripadaru has stated that the unabated bovine stealing and bovine killings in the coastal districts must be stopped and strict action must be taken against the perpetrators of such crimes.

He further added that we strongly condemn the stealing of cows from gaushalas. Many religious organisations and farmers, victims of such crimes, have come to us in pain. He urged the district authorities to take urgent action on the issue.

Moodabidri’s Kashi Sri Digambara Jain Mutt Jagadguru Dr Swasthi Sri Charu Keerthi Bhattaraka Panditacharyavarya Mahaswamiji voiced support to the Pejawar abbot’s statement, adding that some are taking advantage of the COVID-19 lockdown situation in the country are committing such heinous crimes against animals.
