Kundapur: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, D K Shivakumar said that BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal is mentally ill and he must be immediately admitted to a hospital.
Speaking to the reporters, Shivakumar said, ” Yatnal must be admitted to a hospital as he is mentally ill. If he is set free, he will go on issuing irrelevant statements.”
Talking about issues in the coastal region, he said, “Congress is fighting for the rights of fishermen, toddy tappers and others in the coastal area. BJP government has failed to address their issues. Poor people are confused over APL and BPL cards and government is not helping them.”
Reacting to MP Sumalatha’s MP statement regarding the cracks and other technical problems connected with KRS dam, he said, “We will consult the experts and work will be conducted as per their suggestions. Also, it is not right to issue irresponsible statements that create panic among the people.”
