INC needs to solve money in politics: Moily tweets

Bengaluru: Former chief minister Dr M Veerappa Moily’s tweet alleging the role of money power in politics created a major controversy on Thursday.

Moily tweeted, “INC needs to solve money in politics. We can’t afford to have road contractors and their nexus with the state PWD minister determine how candidates are selected for the upcoming assembly elections”. The tweet was tagged to AICC president Rahul Gandhi in the tweet, bringing it to his notice.

Moily has openly criticized PWD minister, Dr H C Mahadevappa on ticket allotment issues in party.

However, Moily deleted the tweet after it began raising eyebrows, but his son Harsha Moily, who is also an aspirant for party ticket from Karkala constituency, posted the same tweet. Harsha too deleted the tweet.

Veerappa Moily even disowned the tweet and said that it would not happen in future.
