Income Tax officials raid residences, offices of BS Yediyurappa’s aides in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: The Income-tax officials have conducted mass raids at over 30 spots including residences, offices of Former CM BS Yediyurappa’s aides in Bengaluru.

Income Tax officials raided the houses and offices of several businessmen, contractors close to Yediyurappa in Sahakaranagar, Hegde Nagar, Ramamandir on Thursday morning.

Officials are currently searching the house of BS Yediyurappa’s personal assistant (PA) Umesh to unearth the allegedly undisclosed wealth.

During Yediyurappa’s recent term, Umesh served as PA at the chief minister’s office and is also reportedly close to Yediyurappa’s son, BY Vijayendra.

According to the sources, contractors in the Irrigation department were the prime target of the coordinated raids. The I-T sleuths also conducted searches at the residences and offices of a few chartered accountants.

The sources said the raids took place in over 50 places across Bengaluru, Bagalkote, Belagavi, Vijayapura and Davangere.
