Incomplete highway work: Padubidri Bandh on January

Padubidri: Padubidri Gram Panchayat along with the respective village associations and agencies held a meeting on Thursday, December 12 to conduct a mass protest against incomplete double road construction in the first week of January.
The contract to construct the double highway and Kalsanka bridge was given to Navayug company and the company had assured to complete all the work before November end.
However, the work has not been completed yet. The pedestrians, as well as motorist, are struggling every day due to the incomplete road work. As a result, road traffic is regularly disrupted causing long roadblocks and inconvenience to the commuters. Meanwhile, the officials at the Hejmadi toll gate are threatening localities on mandatory toll payments.
The meeting organized by Padubidri Gram Panchayat had all vehicle owners union, JCI, Rotary, Lions, and other associations in the jurisdiction present.
In the meeting, it was decided to send a letter to Navyug to complete all the pending work by December end. In case, the construction is not completed by this year-end, they would organize a protest against the company.
Gram Panchayat president Damayanti M, Gram Panchayat Deputy President Y. Sukumar, PDO Panchakshari Swami Kerimata were present.
