Independence Day: Kota Srinivas Poojary hoists tricolour flag

Mangaluru: District In-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary on Saturday, August 15 unfurled the Indian Nation flag at Nehru Maidan here on the occasion of 74th Independence Day.
Following the flag hoist, Srinivas inspected the guard of honour and addressed the gathering.
BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel, Deputy Commissioner Dr. KV Rajendra, Police Commissioner Vikas Kumar were also present on the occasion.
Dakshina Kannada district administration had organized a very simple Independence Day celebrations this year amid of COVID-19.
Known otherwise to witness bustling crowd across many age groups, however, the celebrations were scaled down this year in keeping with prescribed safety protocols to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus that has wreaked havoc across the world.
